New series of INSIGHT Courses in Q4'09
SFM Capital Markets is hosting a new series of Insight Sessions in the fourth quarter of 2009.

These bite-size courses are open to investment professionals, service providers, financial technologists and anyone
following trends within the financial product and services arena.
This series of SFM Insights is complimentary and runs from October 8th through to December 10th. Held on
Thursdays at 11am, each session lasts 1½ hours with opportunities for networking.
Hosted by experts in each discipline, SFM Insight sessions are designed to provide a fast overview of the main
relationships, behaviour and developments within key areas of the financial markets.
Discover the new set of challenges and opportunities for hedge funds, the reality behind all the noise about
financial regulation and why The Cloud is bringing sunshine to a new generation of financial technology architecture.
Other sessions discuss asset classes (ranging from money markets to equities) and business processes (from CRM
to risk management).

Featured Courses
Our featured courses are selected from the SFM catalogue in response to current industry challenges. Two courses
that are coming up and have proved popular in the past are:
- All about Hedge Funds: Get an insight to the world of absolute returns and alternative investment strategies
- Treasury Management: Understand the importance of the treasury function, notably with regard to liquidity planning.
We are also taking a financial technology focus with a two day (optional) course on:
- Linedata (Beauchamp) FundManager: Navigating the product, initially via an overview, but then focusing on detailed
functionality. From an objective standpoint, the course advises on securing business value from the product's range
of features.
SFM Trading Day
As close as you can get to being a Fund Manager, Trader, Risk Manager, etc. This event has proven to be valuable preparation
for entering the industry as a participant or vendor. The day can also help when considering a role shift or satisfying a need for
greater insight. Playing a role within a small team, collectively you will run a hedge fund, deploy strategies and respond to
market events in order to capture the best return.
